Tree Numbers

Identifying UTDallas campus trees that are meaningful to us

•Tree Numbers Is a class experience that encourages people to look at the trees in our local academic community and choose the ones they find most appealing and interesting to them.

•This experience takes advantage of the fact that local arborists at UTD have numbered most of the trees in order to categorize what types and where they are.

•As we choose our trees, the numbers that have been attached to these trees become an opportunity for each of us to create a connection with an individual tree.

•Once we collect our favorites, numbers will be created as personal mementos. Photos of each person with their tree can live in a social media record for UTD.

•An Arbor Day event in 2025 can encourage UTD students to identify and report their tree numbers on UTD’s Instagram.
