I’m drawn to how plants grow—their various behaviors, adaptations, and curious ways of thriving. I explore ways of portraying plants beyond realism, using whimsy and botanical surrealism to consider their peculiarities, relationships and possibilities. My interdisciplinary practice moves between pencils, words, gouache, watercolors, ink, oils, photography, video, sound and digital manipulation.

My interest in plants extends into questions of how humans observe, experience and connect with the natural world. At a recent RAW (Research, Art and Writing) Conference, I presented a participatory experience on the subject of trees and the human connections we form with them. Alongside my studio practice, I teach design as a graduate student, and am a member of LabSynthe, a creative laboratory for electronic poetry at UT Dallas.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Practice at the University of Texas Dallas, with anticipated completion in 2027.
